We have a 20 minute (free) online consultation to discuss:

• Ako Playrooms’ design process, our educational and organisational focus.

• We discuss your Intake questionnaire and learn more about how we can help your family.

• We go through the design fees and costings associated with our Bespoke projects and setting a budget. Including upgrading to active play or built-in-feature designs.

Then after the go ahead from you, we will share with you:

• Ako Playrooms’ educational questionnaire, design aesthetic questionnaire and your Kid’s interview questions as well as a Pinterest board for collaboration.

• We then email through to you our Design Proposal and after the go ahead from you, we will set up a Design Meeting.

Before our Design Meeting we:

• Review your educational questionnaire and your design aesthetic questionnaire.

• We prioritise your design elements, furnishings and play spaces, colour palette and styling inspiration.

• We prioritise the educational aspects of your child’s spaces and options for what type of play to feature in their space.

• We prioritise a tailor made organisational system that is functional, effective and works for your family, your child and the space.

During the Design Meeting we:

• Share, get feedback and prioritse the above points with your review.

• We go through our comprehensive Design and Aesthetic Questionnaire and Educational and Organisational questionnaire, to get a good understanding of your families needs and wants when designing your space.

• We take photos of the room and measure the space. We further discuss and finalise your design fees and costing associated with your design.

• We collaborate to set up a timeline for project completion.

The Design Review meeting is for when we really get into the detail of your entire design. This includes the aesthetic, educational and organisation of your space. Reviewing concept drawings and design elements.

During our Design Review Meeting we:

• Share our 2D concept drawings, including your proposed space layout, play areas, educational floor plan with an explanation of all educational elements in your unique space. Wall elevations of active play area and/or built-in-feature.

• Share our proposed mood boards, including colour palette, furnishing options, learning and play areas, toys and storage options, for your review.

We then take all this information and work towards completing your design and starting to create the 3D elements of your design. We keep in communication and continue to share and get feedback through email and phone calls.

We have a design delivery meeting where we share your final design.

• We go through the educational floor plan of your space and the space layout. As well as wall elevations. We share Ako Playroom’s educational guide that is tailored specifically to your play space.

• We share 3D renderings of your space to give you a better understanding of the look, feel and aesthetic design and styling of your space, as well as the holistic flow of the play areas.

• We share all the designs elements of your space. Including, furnishings, wallpaper, paint colours, toys, equipment, custom made elements etc. and show visuals of these in our 3D renders.

• We discuss Ako Playroom’s organisational guide and how we set up an organisational system that is unique to your space and families’ needs.

• We share detailed working drawings of your final custom designed elements (e.g. playhouse, active play areas, loft, maker space etc.) everything a builder, carpenter or joiner will need to make the space a reality.

Bespoke Design Fees are based on the scope of work. We base this fee on a number of factors including, size of space, upgrades, design work needed etc.
